Oil in coolant

So back along I noticed a small amount of engine oil on my radiator cap, I’ve replaced the gaskets and O rings in the oil cooler... no different.
Is there anything else it could be, other than the head gasket?
Maybe even a crack in the oil cooler itself? I’ve never heard of that before but 🤷🏼*♂️
Needs sorted as it’s getting worse and I really don’t want to pull the head off

Any evidence of water in the oil? Maybe work backwards for a bit? Try rule out a head gasket then come back to the oil in the water problem.

Can you bypass the oil cooler? I'm not really sure how it's setup.. I know that's not ideal but might help you work out what's going on

Nah can’t really bypass the cooler, no coolant in the oil at all. Take the rad cap off and there’s thick black engine oil in there, the expansion tank is full of it 😢
I’m also wondering if it’s a cracked block? Didn’t think the head gasket would leak just engine oil... surely there would be other issues as well?

Start with whats easiest. Oil cooler removal first i think.

I started with the oil cooler, new seals and gaskets and couldn’t see anything else wrong with it. Would like to know if there’s any other seals or gaskets that I should look at before I pull the head off. But I’ve now also been told it could be a cracked block 😢

Did you get the cooler test for leaks while it was out? But usually the cause for oil in coolant is a head gasket. Or worse, cracked head.

Could you please give some more info on this? I have the same problem and am about to pull the oil cooler off but am unable to find much info about diagnosing it. Thank you
