This is proving to be a night mare. There are four nuts and studs that hold the viscous clutch to the water pump. I got two of those off with no issues. But the last two refuse the budge. Now one of them is nicely rounded off.... FFS. Looks like a angle grinder cutting disk is my last resort. But I plan on having a cold ale or two and think about it first......

New pump and viscious coupler installed. Took a while to burp the system but all good now. Has anyome had a shit time getting the nuts of the pump/coupler flanges? I had to use a angle grinder for two of them. Nuts made of butter.

I tried getting those nuts off once and nearly rounded them too, I left it thinking I would upgrade the pump & hub at a later date

The issue is that there is not enough room to get a good 6 point ring spanner in. I had to use a open end spanner. Two nuts cam off relatively easy. The last two were complete bastards. If anyone has to do this be prepared to replace the water pump along with the coupler.
