I'm not sure if your model has NATS (Nissan anti-theft) system. Is there a red light on top of dash blinking when car is locked?
On some models, NATS shuts off the fuel solenoid on the pump. Basically NO diesel gets in. So it'll crank, but no bingo. This can happen if the security system is playing up, issues with key, etc...
