GU IV Dipstick Length

Hey Guys and Gals,
My son has recently purchased a 2005 GU IV wit the Direct Injection motor and we're having difficulty with the dipstick length.

I have found on the intarwebs that the length was adjusted in 2001 (or 2003) and as we've just got a replacement, from a wrecker, that is shorter than the one he was using, I'm concerned whether we're reading the right oil-level.

Please help me out, as short of draining the oil and checking if it's in the vicinity of 8.2L (I think!) and checking the level on the existing dipstick, I canna be sure.

8.2L is correct

In the early gen of 3litre motors, oil capacity was stated as 5.7L and contributed to oil starvation.
