    Exclamation patrol y61 nissan cabstar 3.0 swap

    Hello there!
    I'm new in this group.
    I would like to have your opinion about a problem that I'm facing with my patrol.
    I bought that one with engine swapped with cabstar 3.0 full mechanic: pump and injectors. Th problem is that in inclined road when I'm on third gear engine goes in low rpm, black smoke is going out and the car losses power; I mean like it is going to turn off so I'm obliged to go in second gear and drive slowly. The air intake system is the same as it was for ZD 3.0 engine. Can you give me any opinion or suggestion ?

    From the engine specs I found on a ZD30 Cabstar WITH electronic pump and injectors, the max power output is a mere 81KW. So I'd hate to think what a mechanical ZD would be.

    The only suggestion I have for you would be to remove the engine and put a Patrol engine back in. OR, if it was to work. Use a Patrol ECU, pump and injectors.

    ok, but I have bad experiences with zd 3.0. If im going with 4.2 td i have to change even the gearbox.....

    Wise choice there. Be warned though. The TD is stock form is no better than the ZD30 (Patrol ZD30). But are very easy to make them go a lot better.
