Definitely if you've got the time, working on your own vehicle and figuring it out for yourself is the way to go.

They really are easy motors to work on, heaps of space in the engine bay once you pull the radiator out

Not yet, still a crimped aftermarket standard replacement cooler. An upgrade is on the cards but not really a priority currently, my egts aren’t to bad.

I think he's referring to the potential boost-loss which is common with crimped intercoolers.
