jack (2nd July 2023)
Walking through the local shopping centre yesterday with the aim to buy a windbreaker jacket. Nothing spectacular, just something to keep me dry if it’s wet and rainy for an upcoming boys golf day. Had windbreakers as a kid and young adult, cheap and effective. So 12 months ago I bought a wool coat on special at Myer for about $160 which for me is a big spend, but it was a very nice coat and the original price was north of that. So anyway as we walked past Myers I said let’s check out myers for a jacket, thinking something nice might be on special again. I think those puffer jackets are for dooshbags so I’m not interested in them, but I spy this parka/nylon/plasticy jacket thing that looked ok on a plastic dummy. Sales chick comes over and says would you wanna try this on sir? I said how much is it and she said “7 39”. I didn’t quite comprehend, she saw me staring blankly at her, so elaborated “seven hundred and thirty nine dollars. Would you like to try it on?” I said “7 39 for a parka? Give me a break!” She smiled sheepishly at me and I walked away.
Around the corner I spy another jacket that looks OK. I’m checking it out and the sales guy says “I’ll give you 10% off that jacket if you want to buy it, I just sold one half an hour ago. I pulled the price tag out and read $999! “Good on ya mate” was the only reply I could come up with.
Fugginell and they’re complaining about the cost of living? Perhaps stop buying parkas from Myers!!
PS I decided an old jacket I already had was good enough!![]()

A noo leaf blower.
My 20 year old 2stroke blower is cactus. So I went to Bunnings and out of their entire range they had one petrol driven blower, and it was some brand I new heard of. So I went to Total Tools and splurged on a Milwaukee blower.
Man this things an absolute beast!
By the time I put the two batteries in it, and cleaned my entire driveway, which is 50 metres long, I would have not even started my old blower. I would have just finished putting fuel in it.
Bloody expensive but, Ho Lee Chit! Worth every cent.

Yeah, when I get bored i go shopping!
I am looking at one of these, a wheel lifter and rotator that will take the effort out of changing those heavy tires - getting a bit past this and looking for some mechanical help. Just waiting on freight cost, and yes its in bloody USD.

I carry a load spreader plyboard for the jack so it can easily be located and rolled for final placement.
Picked up one of these kits yesterday, waiting for it to arrive, Should make things easier all round, Aussie Product.

OK, the jack arrived and it easily lifts the front of the patrol off the ground, so easy just pushing a botton up and down, BUT, its is marketed as a 10T electric Hydraulic jack, and has a lifting capacity of 3500kg, not 10,000kg. The 10,000kg corresponds to the weight of the vehicle - these people are on drugs. I have dropped them a line to advise of the false declaration and waiting for a reply. At the very least i am expecting a partial refund because it does lift front and rear axles off the ground which was all I was looking for, however the smaller jack they sell is marketed as suitable for a 3000kg SUV - this one totally different. Annoyed once again.

The carry bag also contains a 340NM 12V inpact gun and impact sockets, very neat package.

Before you fork out coin and carry extra weight Phil check post #12 here mate. I’m sure you carry a long handled shovel. Give it a crack in the shed. Easy peasy Janapese mate.
