Steve, one good thing is that the power window is actually a power "handle". If you remove the motor and expose the splined axle, you can actually replace it with a handle from a manual window (from whatever car that fits) and have the window operating manually while you work out the new power unit.

Thanks for the info. My issues wasn't with the motor it was with the splined shaft on the geared side. There is an aluminum pressed on fitting that turns the gear that moves the window up and down. Eventually the pressed on fitting breaks free from the splined shaft and no longer turns the gear. I drilled through the aluminum fitting into the splined shaft inserted a ss pin. Used a center punch to mushroom it out and now have a working window regulator.
