Please assist if possible - Electrical fault causing turbo problems

Hi guys,

I own a 2001 patrol Y61 3.0 d.

Bosch just replaced the diesel pump.

Since then the turbo wont kick in.

We checked the switch that supplies the vacuum to the turbo. It seems that there is no current to the switch.

Can anyone please tell me what to look for. Can it be the ECU, where does the electric pulse or current that switches this switch originate from. What can cause be the possible cause. Any ideas please.

Anyhow welcome to the forum mate, as for your troll..

Have you plugged a scan tool (computer) into it and checked for codes?
If not that is the first thing I would be doing..
Failing that I would check the maf sensor and the boost sensor on the intercooler

Unless its a hell of a co-incidence then I doubt its the ECU at fault.

More likely a plug or something left off when they did the pump change which speaks volumes for the test they did to make sure it was all tickety boo.

Have a good look around for any plugs or wiring looms that don't look right IE been tucked back or whatever. Esp as Fletch suggested the Boost and MAF Sensors

Outcome of the turbo/dieselpump issue.

Bosch forgot to connect the vacuum pipes underneath the intercooler.

Those that was connect was connected at the wrong places.

They also did not fasten the clamp of the diesel return pipe at the injectors.

The advice given helped me and the auto electrician to source the problem.

must have been the aprentice that put it in the first place then charge for a qualified mechanic to do that stinks imho
