    been away far a while so no reply, now back.
    I've had 2 Patrols but not your model so don't have experience. Overfilling the diferential could cause leaking (maybe) although I haven't heard of it on the rear axle but it's most unlikely that you can do that as the correct oil level is usually at the top of the filler hole and any excess therefore simply runs out before you fit the plug back in.
    Most likely is a faulty wheel bearing or wheel bearing seal, both of which cannot be repaired by the average owner as a heavy press is needed.
    If it has stopped leaking you may be O.K. but keep an eye on it as may indicate a problem on the way.
