So i headed down yesterday with kids in tow. The boys had done a heap by the time i go there. Engine on the crane. Gearbox on the jacks and pretty well ready to start pulling it out.
These guys are Animals. Cracking blokes!!
Out she came. We stood it on its end to replace Gearbox mounts that we identified last weekend to be well passed rooted. (Only a couple of years old and trashed! Dont buy shit mounts people! And dont let Mechanics fit shit mounts and bushed to your car!)
Rear Main looked good but clearly wasnt.
We decided the Patrol should come without a gearbox as there was soo much more room to work without it. Stupid piece of metal.
It was hard work Not slam dunking something down that hole!!! Tempting.
Time for the new Safari Tuff clutch. Fair bit more contact area on the Safari. Looked good and bolted up well.
Time for the gearbox to go back in.
Many hands make lite work. Great Team effort made the complex task relatively straight forward and in she went.
Then bolting up and reconnecting stuff began in ernest.
This was of interest to all. Here is a great pic of the selector linkage . Mechanical and functional.
Winnie did a Passenger Seat upgrade while we were at it.
The Team @Rossco @matfew @Winnie @jonno we did good gents.
Then all day 3 little Girls waited patiently for Dads to finish work so they could have aome Daddy Daughter time at the Park across the road. Great way to finish the day.
Roll On!!!! May you have many many years of happy family motoring Winne.
