When someone clicks it a big eff off Glow Plug shoots across their screen and deletes all their porn
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

Angry? Mmmm p'raps .......... more like pissed off 'cos of the inconvenience.

I'm replacing the front wheel bearing seals & re-packing the bearings. Did the passenger side yesterday - all good.

Went to remove the driver side wheel this morning & couldn't undo one wheel nut (with air rattle gun). Jammed solid on the stud after 2 or 3 turns.

Reverted to wheel brace - could do it back up, but jammed the same each time I tied to undo it. Then the stud snapped off - only using the wheel brace.

Bugger - no longer have a second car, pissing down with rain, no spare studs.

On the upside at least it broke when undoing it & not when doing it up after doing the bearings & seals. Also better here than out in the bush.

So wheel back on, drove into town on 5 studs & bought a new one plus a couple of spares.

Looked at youtube as I've never replaced a wheel stud before. They all show blokes advocating belting the broken stud with a hammer whilst the hub is still on the vehicle. Doesn't seem like a good idea to me. I reckon the shock from the hammer blows probably wouldn't do the wheel bearings a lot of good. Gotta take the hub off anyway & besides it looks like the disc rotor will need to be unbolted to get the new stud in, so I'll wait until the hub's off before knocking it out. Fingers crossed it'll come out easily!

I'm guessing the problem is the aftermarket chrome wheel nuts I've got - guessing that some chrome may have peeled off inside the nut & jammed up the thread. Grrrrr.

Oh well, the car should have 'drip-dried' by now, so back into it.

Store the new studs in the freezer while your getting the old ones out..Makes it easier to tap em in. Also heat the hub up near the hole - like with a hair dryer not a blowtorch.
