Is that seriously worth the effort? I cant see it being real effective and there aint much water in that bottle to keep the kettle cool.

Mark, I have started out using a 2L washer bottle setup to assess its effect. In theory the spraying of cold water onto the hot coil will amplify the cooling effect as evaporating water releases energy, hence the coil will cool more effectively. What remains to be seen is the amount of water and the effect/time lag on anything tangible. Ultimately I will hook up a shurflo pressure pump into the 120L SS water tank I use around camp. For weekend trips I don't need that much water, mostly beer, so its a bit of an experiment right now, cost around $25 plus my time.

The system that @MB mentions is also worthwhile, as the system is pre-primed and at a higher pressure than the simple washer bottle pump. The key is getting the right droplet size and volume of droplets to contact the hot radiator. I expect to use this on long low range/high rev climbs only, then maybe some 'pulsing' at the top of the hills if the temps push over the 105 Deg mark. Unfortunately I have not found any realestate to install a silvan pump/tank set-up, so the shurflo and ss water tank will suffice. I did buy a cheap 12V solenoid valve for the instant cut-off in ebay for $6, so will see how that goes. I have tried to engage with a large spray nozzle manufacturer to select a nozzle, but the arrogant dick basically told me i wasn't worth the effort, so next time I have an industrial project requiring spray nozzles, he won't get a call - what goes around comes around. I keep you informed as this develops.

Over two days: Changed out both front rotors and pads. Greased wheel bearings, fitted new seals and fitted new wheel studs to P/S. Rebuilt D/S caliper and bled the brakes.

After at least 50000 ks, the Innox MX8 grease in the bearings was still very clean.

Had the master brake cyclinder replaced, recently.

Yesterday, I filled the water tanks up (90lts) ready for a few days away next week.

Still undecided if I'll hit the sand, dirt or bitumen! PML.

Well turns out I damaged an abs hose over the weekend....



I know gq guys swear by braided line upgrades, but has anyone done it on a gu with much improvement? Otherwise depending on cost, I may just replace the damaged one with a oem replacement
