Injector Pump

Hi Everyone just wondering if my diesel injector pump is knackered car starts for a few seconds then dies with white smoke coming from exhaust
Its a 3.0ltr december 2000 model turbo direct injection series 2
any answers would be appreciated

G'day mate and welcome to the forum. White smoke is unburnt diesel so not a good thing. If it does start it indicates the glow plugs are working and if it blows white smoke I guess the injector pump is working, perhaps not correctly but at least working. It may help to ask this question in the engine thread as not everyone reads this thread and also add what happened, that is did it work fine one day and just not work the next, or get progressivle harder to start or what?
