If it is a clutch problem, it will rev out more, and go less .... that is what is described as clutch slip. Eventually when it fails completely, you will have no forward motion.
If you think it is the clutch, ie, it fits the descriptions above, then don't thrash it too much, as then you will have to trailer it to the mechanic to get it fixed and that will be more cost. Then try and get it to the mechanics under its own steam as soon as you can
