New (very old) Patrol Owner - hello!

I thought I'd introduce myself before I go throwing any questions around. Hello all, my name is Paddy

I don't know a whole lot about engines/vehicles. I bought myself an old Patrol about 6 months ago with the hope of having a bit of fun and learning my way around the mechanics. I had a mechanic look it over before I bought it and he told me there was nothing seriously wrong with it so bought it. The air intake in the engine had a big hole in it and I taped that up and the overflow/extension tank for the radiator seems to have melted big holes in it, but it generally runs very well. I've got a new reservoir coming in the post.

I think it's a GQ Y60 1989 COMM. 1989 is what it was sold as and that's what the rego says. I've put up a picture of the badge under the bonnet.

The badge says 2/92, is that Feb '92? Probably a stupid question but I'm very new to this.

Anyhow, hope to learn plenty here from all you patrol veterans

    Paddy

G'day paddy. There should be a little plate at the front next to the bonnet support on the passenger side showing build date.

    Thanks for the welcome all!

I'm based in Sydney. Though would be very happy to be based elsewhere!

Thanks for the tip on the plate by the way Winnie. December 1991 it says, so I suppose it's a '91 Patrol GQ Y60

    Here are some pictures
