    I initially thought it was the bearing under the main pulley that was shot. This was a replacable bearing, albeit a major PITA to do.
    Mine was noisy without AC/Clutch being kicked in. But when i engage AC, it goes super loud.
    This means the internals of the compressor could be shot as the load is transferred off the pulley bearing onto the internal bearing.
    I've taken my old compressor apart and the internals were shot and slightly rusty, very noisy by simply turning with hand. Mine would have seized up within weeks if i didnt act on it.
    I'll have a couple of more beers and I should be able to decypher your cryptic message. lol.

    Normally I take it to my mechanic and say 'fix it', but I recently found out, through unfortunate experience, my local dealership doesn't have a qualified auto leckie, so It'll be going to the local auto leckie in the new year - sooner rather than later. Forecast 40 on Xmas day. lol.
