Been searching through Google this morning for a promised to Mrs MB humane method of stopping swallows crapping at our shed door entry. Found some advice from 2010 out there, seems like a nice bloke too :-)

Nice find LOL
A mate was showing me his scarer the other day, its one of those light generators yo put on your front lawn at Christmas to light up the house with a coloured moving light show. Point it at their chosen spot and they move on.
He reckons it has done the job as they were nesting over his brand new $100K-plus caravan, he is "now happy Jan!"
Cheers

Cheers Macca, I like that idea mate!

@MB fair dig that all the way back to 2010,
but as we all know a good swallow will that.
Maybe hang some fine bird netting enough to
tick them off

The wood swallows did the same thing, building nests in the wrong spot, until I screwed a bucket into a corner of the shed, This year they're onto their second lot of eggs, so that makes five lots. They eat a heap of insects, so I'm happy to have them.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.
