With pocket knives, the only items prohibited are press button flick or spring assisted knives.

All knives with thumb studs or like the 1 in the clip now known as "flipper" knives are fully permitted as customs legislation change towards the end of last year.

I've got a Cold Steel Black Sable flipper I took a gamble on as I wasn't 100% convinced of its functionality but it quickly became 1 of my favourite EDC blades and also considering adding more variations to my collection.

I've had a couple confiscated in the past due to their lack of understanding the laws they're required to uphold, an example was a paracord wrapped survival knife I ordered got snaffled because they deemed it to be a "throwing knife".
When I questioned them they replied that they applied their "testing policies" and was deemed to be a thrower despite the manufacturer's supporting document stating a survival knife only. They didn't like being asked if they tested the knife by throwing it, we don't do things like that (apparently) but they couldn't deny they had according to their policies.
