    LPG Problem

    Hi,
I have a 2000 GU series I. It was converted to duel fuel five years ago. I had no trouble with LPG system until now. The problem is that there is a clicking sound coming from the tank area, I believe that it is the solenoid closing and opening very quickly.
The car still drives for sometime and then stops, probably because the tank solenoid closes.
Did any one else experience similar problems and how did they fix it?
Can someone recommend a good mechanic for LPG in the southern suburbs?

    thank you,

Could be a dodgy relay, wiring issue or the Tachymetric Relay.

I would have thought it should switch to Petty automatically if it is the Tachymetric Relay and you normally only notice a slight miss but maybe not with yours.

If it is "chattering" that is often the Solenoid itself but if it is that's a job for the Gas dude IMHO. Least likely but a def possibility is wiring damage.

Does it do it when you are just parked up and idling?
Dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish.

Had similar problem mate, but mine would die fairly quick after swapping to LPG - it was the solenoid.

    Thank you for reply.

    It does chatter when stationary.
Another thing that I noticed is that the module that indicates if the engine runs rich or lean, shows that it runs always rich. Not sure if it relates to the solenoid problem.

I will try checking for damaged wiring.

Can you recommend a good LPG mechanic?

    thanks,
