Interesting. I thought the preferred method of sharpening an axe (or any blade for that matter) was in the same direction as the blade not perpendicular to it like that fiskars sharpener?
Yeah not sure myself to be honest. I use a sharpener of a very similar type for my kitchen knives and it works really good. But the sharpener does wear out after a while and it needs to be replaced. For sharpening axes I would think the sharpener would last a long time compared to the kitchen sharpener, only because of the amount of times it would be used. I sharpen my kitchen knife maybe once a week to keep it super sharp.
Ive got a lanksey diamond knife sharpening kit i use on my kitchen/hunting knives might give those a crack over the edge.
