TB42 Alternator Signal wire pic

Hey All, chasing a pic of the back of a 60 amp alternator for a tb42 gq carby modle I have a short green signal wire coming out of a white wire with red line.

Just dosent make sense cant find the wiring diagram online either.

White wire with red line is usually trigger wire that goes to the ignition.

This thread may help you. They are not that different between RB30 & TB42 carby models, afaik.

that's what ive got green wire coming out of the white with red trace. I'm tipping its been added in...

Yeah, it should've been white/red trace all along. Green wire is tapped onto it later, by the looks of it.
It's the trigger wire. Usually goes to the ignition switch(via the fuseboard near the driver's side door), or "signal" wire as it's labeled in the picture.
Thick white wire next to it is the "Sense" wire that goes to the battery positive terminal, either directly or indirectly via
the "Charge wire". Charge wire(BAT +) should be at the back of the alternator, which is another thicker wire(usually white)
that goes to battery positive directly via some 60A fuse in between. Earth is the body of the alternator(there should be couple of threaded holes on the
back of the alternator for that).
You should be able to wire it up without a picture of the back of the alternator, now.
Or download the GQ workshop manual available to download on this forum or in the internet for free.
All the information, wiring diagram,etc are there with detail.
