    hello all , finally in a gq :-)

    I bought a jeep! And soon after realized the errors of my ways so that's now the wifes daily, still it's a capable off roader and I've got a bit of a soft spot for it. It got me into 4wd and offroad and into the local 4wd club. It didn't take long before i got sick of hearing things like "you can't take that, it won't make it" or "don't do it you'll brake it" etc etc. Which is fair enough, it was a family car and had to be reliable So i decided i needed something capable and cheap so i got the gq . straight panels and no rust. 88 model tb42 carby. Picked it up for $1600 with 6 weeks rego. 3" lift and 33"s. 450xxx klms so far I've put a kit through the carby, power steering pump, replaced all the rad and heater hoses and got the radiator reco'd. Some one has changed the diff centres at some point and the limo is still nice and tight and i welded a crack in the front diff. I've fitted bf Fairmont front seats, changed the back seats and the carpet and windscreen rubber. Adjusted the steering box and added a light bar and uhf I'm currently in the process of putting a bf falcon 6cyl motor in and then turbo'ing it. I've got the motor, turbo kit, clutch kit and the bell housing, ( all though dellows sent me the wrong one so i have to send it back.) Waiting on the engine mounts now so i can sit it in place and start making the wiring harness. I bought another patrol for spares and so i can do the conversion in it and bolt it all in mine when it's done so i Don't have to have mine off the road for 6 months. Eventually I'd like to go 2" body 4" suspension , 35"s 4.6 diff gears, dual transfer and front locker. Still goes ok though and surprises me how well it goes though I'm still getting used to how low the diff centres sit.
    All loaded up and off camping. Full load and towing a full camper trailer and didn't evenlook like getting hot and there was a lot of long second gear uphills.
    some wheeling fun, charged up there easy as the $500 banga

    Hi mate. Your all good. Your intro required approval because you embedded pics in it with a low post count using the @ symbol would have blocked you too. Just our Spam Filter keeping the Crap away. I have approved your intro and your good to go. Enjoy.
    Its a Nissan! =====> Its a Keeper!! ....... Got a TD42 in it BONUS!! ....... I'm a lucky bugger! I've got 2 of em!

    The only good thing about an 80 series is..... the front end?? Wrong!!, the Engine?? Wrong!! the Full Time 4WD system?? Wrong!! Its the NissanPatrol.com.au stubby holder fitted over the transfer lever.
