    Sub Fuel Tank swap over.

My TB42 GQ maverick lwb has a 70ltr sub tank. due to lpg.
And my TD42t GU lwb has the std 32 ltr sub.
Wondering if They could be swapped over?.

Obviously the transfer pump needs to stay in GU, custom bracket I suppose.
The idea is, would be a cheaper way of increasing range on GU than installing expensive long range or rear bar carrier.
This would also put load between the axles not increase weight behind rear axle, or decrease ground clearance or departure angle.
Just an idea, some input please peoples.

I'm looking at doing b the same..
Unfortunately it's not a simple swap due to floor differences..

From initial looks the gq tank had a top peice that is the expansion area..
The stock gu don't have this..
So I'm thinking that's why people say the fit if you have a body lift in to fit the gq Long Range tank to a gu..

    I plan to remove mine..
I'll also insert the fast fill breather a touch lower to allow expansion..

But this is reducing tank capacity.. so it may only be 70l in the end..
    Cheers

My GQ tank is basically rectangular with the round riser on top for gauge & expansion.
It doesn't have the extensions at the rear of tank like some larger sub tanks.
Thanks for the heads up on top floorpan clearance issue.

    Fair enough.
I think brown Davis are much square'er than LRA.
I also noticed the gu tank mounts on both ends.
My Lra mounts to the cross member and the to 2 other chassis points..

Actually I think it holds something like 73 ltrs but I just rounded it to 70.
I'm going to be replacing GQ rear lower arms soon so I plan to measure and take pics same time.
I need to remove, or partially remove tank to do arms anyway.
    wont be this weekend.

Yeah as Kallen said about the riser part on the GQ Aux tank. This part fouls with the floor on a GU, and I think the hole in the GU floor to access the sender unit doesn't line up with the GQ LRT.
