New user tagging

I haven't had a good look but I don't think there's a way to turn it off?

Am I also right in assuming if you tag someone in a thread they get a notification of every new post in the thread?

Is that true?

If so I'll see if I can remove that so you can only tag in a post.

I get notifications when someone quotes me now, don't every remember getting email notifications when someone quotes me............. Is that new?
