PS, tell me if I'm putting any sensitive info up on a public forum and if I could compromise PC security by putting this up.
No mate nothing sensitive, I wouldn't ask that. So because your an administrator it gives you the ability to install programs(such as anti virus programs but also viruses). What agman was hinting at is if you use just a home users account you won't have that ability and won't be able to install the viruses, and then you will just have to log into the admin account when you want to install it

OK so I understand I have the ability to install viruses, even by mistake. Is that correct? If so, I need a good virus/internet security system to cover my arse. I need to wear protection when pissed in Bangkok!!

So I'm pretty sure this question has been asked, and I know it'll probably open a can of worms... But... Should I upgrade to Windows 10?
This is a work pc that is networked to 5 others. Two of them win 7, and three still on xp. I use it for designing, myob, email and Web browsing.
Will it cause any problems. Is it even worth it?

its fully a matter of personal choice mate. if you are happy with the way your computer is running then dont worry about it. you can even get rid of the notifier by going to add remove programs then uninstall windows updates and then uninstall update #KB30355.... i cant remember the whole number but the numbers ive given you will get you there. then you can just hide the update in windows update and you wont have to worry about those annoying popups again

Did our upgrade back six months or better, been no probs at all. Not networked as you are tho' so no intel on that.

Can only think if xp and 7 are happy to talk to each other then all should be ok.

oh as for the networking issues, there wont be any you will need to continue to use the same network authentication methods you currently use.

I would check all your other programs you use are Windows 10 compatible. I've had a few clients upgrade to Windows 10 and then find their programs don't work.

Yeah I think everything is fine as is so I should probably not bother. The old xp machines are only really used to do design work and run the cutters but they will be updated soon I reckon.
