I must say I dont think you will do wrong with a ruger american. Mine seems quite well built for a cheaper market rimfire. Shoots very consistent too. It preferred the cci subsonics today. I was only shooting subs (main reason i went .22lr). I went through winchester 40gn and 42gn, cci, remington and highland.
