Gday mate, welcome to the forum, just a thought, if you can hear a solenoid, is it the solenoid for your dual battery setup?

I have my red arc solenoid wired via the blue wire on the unit to a momentary on button on my dash. This allows me to link the batteries to jump start off the auxiliary battery. When I push the button to link the batteries, there is an audible click from the solenoid.

Anyway, just a thought, following the wires would help you to find out for sure. As for the plugs, check out the website for the 12 volt shop in Western Australia,

X2 with escix and others... the push button will most likely be to manually parallel the two batteries.

Those sockets are a standard 32 volt "Flat Pin T" power socket.
You can get plugs to suit at any electrical and/or accessory supplier.

Do you have dual battery, it may be for emergency (override) starting switch for the isolator.

x2 for dual battery parallel solenoid, DC outlets reinforce it.

Either a jumper for when you have a flat main/start battery or possibly a glow plug switch. It could be for the ejector seat they did come standard on some models. Get your wife to sit in the passenger seat and press it.

Turn on the headlight and press the button and see whether you are noticing any difference in the brightness.
Depending on the battery status it can be high or low, but it is not a guaranteed method, but worth a try.

Get someone to push it and you find the solenoid under the bonnet you can hear switching, then trace what it it switching, a solenoid is just a big Relay so it should be very easy to figure out. It could be absolutely Anything though? It it an On/Off switch or a Momentary On switch?

Everything is a guess without tracing wires. Whatever it is switching could have been removed by a previous owner years ago making it just some random switch.

Thanks for the suggestions. Wife not keen to sit and push! Need to trace those wires I guess. Seems like a momentary pb as its position doesn't change.
