Well, split between happy and angry thread. I'll just put it here I suppose...
Good news is the Patrol won't be sold... yay!!
Bad news, had the meeting at work, and for the moment I'm staying where I am, in fact our future is uncertain after the chinese take over and them building a new "model" for our company, which we'll find out towards the end of the month. Talk about a kick in the face. Get thrown a hint about a car and promotion, and then a week after find out it's the complete opposite and much more sinister than that ...
    Oh well.

Just had a lot of locals that delivered bauxite to the smelter sacked and replaced by a foreign lot. I bloody hope you keep your job, wages and conditions.

I had a friend working in the telecommunications industry when his company was sold to an overseas mob. He made a deal to work as a self employed consultant. He seems happy enough.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

Runva seem to be well priced and a decent winch to boot.
The Aldi winch has a good wrap as well.

I wouldn't go the Aldi one IMO. Not sure if winnies still got his old ironman or if its for sale but that's a bloody good winch.

I sold that to my brother in law, to be honest mate it was disappointing to see inside that winch. It was full of water and had started to rust. Not enough grease in it.
My mate has an aldi winch and while it hasn't let him down yet he has only used it once and it is extremely noisy.

I reckon cheapish low mounts are a bit hit and miss, can be a bit of a gamble how they perform. Runva seem to be making a good name for themselves.

There are some interesting pictures of winches and the state they are in after 12 months on the other forum. Surprisingly the rydge ryder one from supercheap came up the best. Looked like brand new with the grease still retaining its colour and the seals kept water and dirt out.

Runva wasnt in there but theu had pictures of warn, tigers and supercheap items
