    GQ back seats moved back

Has anyone out there in patrol land moved the seats in a GQ back? When I have my seat back as far as it will go (a couple of extra inches would be better) the young bloke has no room in the back.
I want to move the back seats back a few inches.
    Any ideas???

Sorry, Covo, I had the same problem and ended up leaving the third row seat in so at least the kids could stretch out side ways. Very interested to see if anyone has come up
    with a solution too.
My advice is: not to follow my advice.

There was a thread recently of modded brackets to move the front seats back for you 6'2" plus guys
I really cant see why the same cant be done on the rear seats,
Make a frame that picks up all std mounting points and move the seat back on that.
Id have to have a look but Im sure its possible, you may need to remove the seats from the rails
to allow you to bolt to the new frame??
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there

The floor goes up not far behind the bracket at the back of the seats.
I was thinking of just getting some 5mm steel and running it along the top of the existing bracket past the back about 100mm and bolting the seat further back on the steel. Both the kids are in car seat bolting in behind that so don't think there are any safety issues.

I dont have pictures, as I have sold the car, but
I did do this mod on my GQ

you need to take them out
basically, the front edge of the bracket that the seat base swings on, we cut the front off and moved it back 60mm into the middle of the bracket......... I hope this sort of explains it........ instead of the bracket that is bolted to the floor being an "L" shape, it is now a "T" shape - bolt holes on either side of the center section......... aaaahhhhhhhh how to explain.......?????????
you also need to remove the "bump stop" at the back of the seat, and turn the locking bracket for the seat base around for the seat to lock down properly

should also say, that if you have a cargo barrier, it will also need to be moved back and modified
I am thinking this is in English, so hopefully you will understand
but I think I am thinking in Gibberish.......................

be carefull when you take the seat out, you may need to weld up the cracks under there first
