Heres my 2 leg vices I think the smaller one is a Peter Wright.
and to think these are all hand made, well these 2 are.
Going cheap if you need it Irish, That small one would take more
punishment than a modern 6" vice and then some
@ Kallen how did your one scrub up????

Just had this fella delivered, just a generic make but has a good grip for the handle, nice size and the ABs sheath clips the knife if place well.
Also comes with a paddle to allow it clip properly on the belt with minimal movement and also onto boots as well if needed.
Picked it up through Global Gear with their Xmas sale.

Nice, thanks for the link Threedogs.
Do you guys know where I can pick up an anvil without having to remortgage my house? Seems they're quite collectable ornaments now, which sucks for someone who wants to use one for it's intended purpose.
Bunnings do a little 10kg one but I'd imagine it's pretty useless. There's a guy in Mitcham selling a bunch of thick I beam cutoffs cheap that might suit for a beginner like myself though.
Also, finally bit the bullet and got a leatherman multitool. Had been sceptical up to now but I have to say I'm impressed by the overall quality. The knife, rope knife(serrated) and saw are pretty damn good and it has a 25yr warranty. what do you guys reckon on them?
Yeah I have a few in my watch list My one is an Aust Vulcan strong arm 70kg
great size and pounding with a 4lb cross peen you can really feel its power

This would be an ideal Farrier anvil.
I got the log from the council when they were cutting down some big gum trees,
Ive dribbled sump oil into it to stop any rot and sump oil is great if you want to "black"
some steel a great rust proof finish,. It now has hoops to hold a few hammers.
Height is make a fist and that the height of the anvil easy as eh
The iron loops holding the anvil down are "U" bolts off a leaf sprung 4x4 lol

You'll find you'll be making heaps of stuff for around camp,
especially different gear for around the fire, well I did lol
Do you have a link to your leatherman?
