    After market alloy radiator

Hi I have broken my standard plastic/alloy radiator on my gu 2003 zd30. I broke the little return port next to the top inlet tried gluing a new plastic piece in and seems to be working but not confident in it lasting as a permanent fix. I have been quoted $300 to replace the top plastic tank but have seen all alloy radiators on eBay to suit my model for about the same money has anybody got one or would you recommend putting a standard one back in? cheers Mark

I bought an alloy radiator from Ebay for $245 for my TD42T conversion. Fitted perfectly, including fixing the TB45 shroud to it.
Only done 2000 kms but seems to be working quite well.
Obviously, you can't get the thing rodded further down the track but, at that price, why would you bother..

If the radiator itself is still Ok go by a brass 1/4 to 10mm hose barb
rough up the thread apply some thread tape and it will be good as new.
Mines been like it for 5 years now and never leaks

I had to purchase another radiator for my ZD30DDti since I damaged my cores while checking the viscous fan clutch. I looked around and read information but basically the ZD30 is a fairly cool engine and you would only need a bigger alloy/3-core one if you are towing a lot. I got the Natrad OEM replacement one and the water temp has barely ever gone over 95ºC.

I had the same part break on mine, happened while it was parked, 200km from home. I had enough of the pipe left that I could clamp the hose back on, but drove home on a 38 degree day without the aircon just in case.
I put an all ali ebay special in the old GU2, it seemed pretty good but I sold the car 6 months later.
    I had 2x minor issues:
    1) The drain plug didn't seal properly & I had to drain it put some gasket goo on the plug & refill it.
    2) The mounts on the top were not quite in the right place and it sat back about 10mm more than original.
