Went for drive up the road this afternoon to get some dinner, on the way home I home I managed to blow an intercooler pipe off. I wasn't trying that hard, was probably somewhere around 14-16psi. Wholly hell didn't it go off with a bang, sounded like a bomb went off, also happened to occur right out the front of the local Police station   As I cruised to a stop on the side of the road, I thought here we go, I was expecting a heap of cops to come out guns drawn. Hmm bit of a bummer and not a tool on board.

So give the lovely wife a call, explain what's happened tell her to come up and get the dinner to take home, also get her to grab the 1/4 drive socket set and a tin of silicon spray. A few minute later she turns up and takes dinner home, I put the pipe back on and checked the other clamps and a few of them were a bit loose. Anyway it drove better on the way home, blew less smoke and made less noise, so I'm guessing it must have been leaking a bit.

As a result I just bought a set of these off evil bay which will hopefully solve the problem long term.

    Cheers Rod

Those T bolt clamps are good. Whats even better is the spring loaded T bolt clamps. They will hold the load on the clamp so it wont ever come undone.

One of the final pieces of the puzzle went in yesterday. Pretty stoked about that. The flywheel arrived at my mechanics and they opened the box to find this:

They guys were very impressed with what they found and took a heap of pics, commenting that it was the most impressive flywheel they had seen and appreciated the amount of work and machining that was involved in making it. Nice work and a big complement to Boosted6 and his suppliers.

So it was up on the hoist and out with the old

    And in with the new.

To this they boltedd up a UFI clutch, replaced the rear main seal and also changed the 2 uni joints in the rear prop shaft.

They then commented on how nice the clutch felt straight out of the box, standard weight and feel and super smooth. To say the least, they were mighty impressed with the final setup. Looks like all the research has paid off.

It's off for a wheel alignment in the morning, then I'll change out my buggered steering damper, pump up the boost a bit and tidy up a few electrics.

    Cheers Rod

Yep, good to have it back and be able to drive it without having to baby it.
