Hey mate, similar car history as also went through the nightmare and expense of owning a V8 Discovery. Finally got hold of a Patrol a couple of weeks ago so welcome to the forum

Yep - owning a discovery is certainly an experience. Ive actually had 2 of them, plus a range rover in the past - so was a bit of a LR enthusiast, but I'm getting less patient as i get older, and need more reliability.
Its a pity about the English quality of the mechanics - because they are great cars to drive, but you quickly forget that when your either pouring money in the to fix things, or waiting for a tow truck to pick you up lol.
