    removing engine and gear box from 1993 lwb leaf spring 2.8td rd28

    Hello ,, i have two nissan patrol 2.8td rd28 lwb ,, the plan is to make one good one ,, can i take engine and gearbox out in one bit from the front to swop them,,, any info would be great,, thanks Dom

    Pretty sure theres 2 beams that go across the whole engine bay front behind the grille. These are not removable so you cant get enough leverage to take out engine and gearbox in one go.

    If I were you I would take out both engines, then see if gearbox splines have any play. They're pretty bulletproof gearboxes so might not even have to take them out anyway?
