I've heard that too, but I've also heard the ones that face backwards are louder as the finish right on top of the window opening ... Well that what I'm clinging to anyway I'm getting one with a forward facing ram head on it, so it'll look just like a Safari one only a tad thicker when you get a bit closer to it.
    Cheers Rod

Yes a ram head is best. It helps direct air into the snorkel, helps to keep the water out and noise.

If you want the best from any setup 4" from top of the snorkel all the way to turbo is best.

    That's what's happening, 4" all the way.

No, forward facing for me. It's a Radius Snorkle. Hoping it'll look something like this, only a series 4 though...

    Cheers Rod

So bought this a couple of weekends ago.

89 Jayco dove.. and you can tell

But it's lifted and running 31" tyres so it's a good start.
    Usable now but a do'er'uper.

Headed out last weekend and had the winch output shaft snap so that was a turn around and repair job.

Heading out again tonight. Hopefully a more successful trip lol..
    Cheers

Better not let my misses see this or she will be nagging me to get one.

Do you have to cut the gaurd, more than just a hole, like in the pic?

Yea mate. Been using the camper trailers and really there just as much stuffing around, if not more, than the straight tent.
So comprised and landed with this.
Heaps of storage room, heaps of sleeping room. Reasonable capable (will be once I'm done anyway) and a good price.
If we do wanna get off off road we'll still tent it.
    Cheers
