Now would be a good time to...........................
Now would be a great time to service your cooling system in time for summer.
Maybe remove and clean the radiator, even get it rodded, some fresh hoses
and new OE thermostat.
Last thing you want is your camping trip spoiled.
In fact a good time to go over the Patrol and find some things that may need attention.
Dont forget to check your nuts too especially if you have a GU Y61

Can you elaborate on checking the nuts on the GU Y61? Trying to get my 1999 2.8 in order.

Probably talking about wheel nuts. There has been a bit of discussion about wheels coming off or breaking if torqued incorrectly.

Yes a lot of dust/dirt will accumulate on the bottom of the radiator.
Either remove and clean with a hose. If using a pressure washer
go easy. You'll be surprised how much crud can get there
If you own a GQ check the thermo fan for signs of cracking and becoming brittle

Great post threedogs! Just waiting for my new radiator to get delivered to give my cooling system a full overhaul! Especially since it's nearly build up season!
Also worth installing some kind of aftermarket temp gauge/warning system as the old gq gauges aren't always very accurate. I use 2 different systems in my rig - engine watchdog, and an in hose gauge too

Good post. I noticed that my car is now heating up till 103ish under normal load. I already have a new radiator, viscous fan and thermostat but I get the impression that the thermostat is off. Time to replace that one

Replace with an OE unit only, After market seem to cause issues
