The payment is what I do not understand, if you get paid less than your job would pay how can anybody be expected to keep up with bills & Mortgage?

My daughter was selected last year 2 days after she got a new job, she told her new employer and 2 days later was told they no longer had a job for her but said it was nothing to do with the jury duty, no way to prove otherwise so it cost her a job.

Wow that sucks!
They pay you $50 per day and your employer is expected to make up the rest. Not so great if you work for yourself though.

I just had my Doctor write the Jury ppl a letter excusing me from jury duty.
Who knows Winnie we may have been sitting on the same case, I was a witness to an incident
that happened across the road from my place and was paid $5 to attend the Magistrates court in Melb

Nope not me... I've never done it. Got a letter once and forgot to do anything with it, never heard anything back.

Normally they will fine you as its supposed to be compulsory in Vic I think or it was

Well then so far it has taken about 18 months to send me a fine... maybe they forgot.

Law may have changed I ignored previous ones this time they didnt accept a stat dec.
They needed a letter from the Docs, think he was having a bad day.
Couldve pushed his buttons a bit more, but why bother lol

Yeah last two days the sun has been out. So looking forward to summer. My mate is currently in Hawaii, with a low of 27c over night and mid 30's during the day. Bring on summer!

Yeh I love winter and cold but I'm really over this one. Get home from work and it's already dark and/or freezing and/or raining... Bring on the warm beer weather !

My wife bought me a Mig welder for my birthday and with my trade card got $100 off a $400 welder..... one quarter the price off with a trade card... crazy!!!!!

Anyway I am happy in case you cannot tell...lol
