Not a worry mate, this is farkin' annoying. I'm sure you heard it when I took off from your place the other day ... lol
I leave home to work way before 6AM, and that rattle together with a cold clunker diesel echoing in my small court isn't doing neighbouring relations any favors.... and then there will be the 3" pipe soon too....

Got my 3" system on yesterday mate, that bloody rattle is still there.
Prior to putting your 3" system on please give the dump pipe studs a really good soaking, snapped one on mine and a 3 to 4 hour job took 14 hours

Haha, that's what they do. I'm in a small cul de sac that is a bit up hill. Leaving early in the morning is fine as its down hill, but coming home it's labour it in second, or whip it back to first for up the street and the driveway. Between the 4.2 rattle, 3" exhaust and gearbox rollover noise there's no sneaking up on people, they know when I come home
    Cheers Rod

@ Hodge how do you find the difference between the two CRD and 4.2TD speed wise?
Is it possible to adjust something to stop the rattle,, tappets etc.?

As for the rattle, I will wait until the exhaust comes off and new one goes on to see if it is that. Fingers crossed. If not, like the other fellas here, I will have to keep looking. Car is now in the hands of the mechanics and then ARB so won't have it for a week or so.

Speedwise... As I mentioned earlier in the thread. The CRD was much more zippier around town, lights to lights, etc ... On the highway the 4.2 eats it for breakfast and desert, hands down... Once the 4.2 gets going it's pulls like a truck. But around town, it is just that, a truck.
Like jumping in and going for a short drive to a pizza shop. It feels like I'm firing up a outback road train and lugging 5 trailers behind me LOL. In my experience they are 2 different beasts.

However... In saying that, I am comparing my stock as rock 4.2, to the fully rigged up CRD on 33"s, lift kit, fully loaded with bull bars, roof racks, everything... I will find out what the 4.2 behaves like fully loaded in a few weeks.
