    some more mods

The black plastic clips are for my wheelchair, just fold the back rest down and push the wheelchair into place, give it a little shove so the foot plate locks into the clips and pull the bungy cord over to a support under my wheelchair and clip it on and the wheelchair is locked into place, takes about 5 seconds once the wheelchair is sitting on the deck.

The standard muffler was replaced with the one in the pic, it is a high flow sports one and now sounds as it should.

    Very nice.

Cheers guys. The next thing on the list is the suspension upgrade, but not for a while. ARB, Tough Dog, Dobinsons, Ironman all do kits for these things but they are pretty standard kits (apart from tough dogs adjustable shocks), so I was waiting for ARB to do a BP51 kit but it doesn't seem like they want to do one and if they do it will probably be years away, I understand their thinking but if they don't get a BP51 kit out soon, I think they will lose out as people won't spend money on one kit then a year later go to an ARB kit. The UAE have had this vehicle for quite a few years so would have thought they would have tried to target this market like Tough Dog have. One of the chief designers of the BP51 kit actually drives a Y62 so we can only hope I suppose but who knows the way they think, they can be a funny bunch at times!!!

    time for an update

A couple of pics....it just had a bath.

The Rhino roof basket (AT2012-2080mm x 1295mm) and 1500mm crossbars came off our old GU, just needed to change over the feet and it bolted up nice and easy, the shovel holder is from pro rack and does an ok job of holding the shovel in place. The box in the pic is also from our GU (I made it for a trip many years ago), it is held in with 4 turnbuckles so isn't going anywhere.

    Cheers Clunk.
The rear end certainly doesn't help it in the looks dept but with a bit of bar work and a change of wheels and tyres the focus is taken off the back end....to a point!! I took some pics of the rear along with the other pics above but it still looks like it needs a rear bar to get the focus off the wide/squat stance it has and a suspension lift to get the a r se end off the deck, it will happen just not sure when..

Looks great as is mate! Wish I had one!

Maybe I could convince work into selling my Hilux and getting a Y62?

Here is a couple of pics that someone had a play with and turned the Y62 into a ute, not too sure if they will pay for the conversion but who knows!!
