Ok, so it sounds like an additional clEar led light behind a blank might do the trick?
Anyone got an ebay link to one that suits?

I used 68 smd led globes,[pure white] behind the brake/park lens,
and instead of retro fitting another indicator, I put 2 x 120 smd globes
behing the clear lens, giving me 480 smd leds for reverse.
the globes in the bumber were replaced with 68 smd brake/park and
68 smd led globes behind the amber lens, of all the globes on my Patrol
I havent changed were the OE amber indicator globes on the front.
I'm yet to find a decent amber led you can see in daylight.
Dont forget to put 50ohm resistors for every indicator [4]
the front T20 park globes need to have two wires each side
as they shine brighter when the indicator is on.

Had a search on ebay for patrol dummy lights and variations of. Still only able to find light and lens packages for around $200. Will try patrolapart tomorrow, would rather retrofit existing lenses if possible.

Ah! Just a word of warning. It is very important information I offer here. Even if mocking may come after it.
If the wiring doesn't already exist for the extra reverse light (as in my 2001 GU) make sure someone is around when you wire it.
I removed the lights at the rear and stuck my arm through the hole into the cavity to grab the harness for wire into.
All good. Hot day, arm got stuck.......dam it.
Unfortunately for me, I did it after work and everyone had gone home, and to beat, my phone was on the work bench, just 10mm to far away to reach.

I pondered many things while my arm was stuck in there. Many things.
Eventually, some time later which I am not willing to share, a co-worker drove past and saw I was still at work and swung in to see why.
20 minutes later with oil and grease I was a free man.

So take heed my fellow Patrolians, do not repeat my stupidity.

Ah just a co-worker, a real mate would have taken photos first.

when you drill holes for light sockets, blow them out with air.
try to carefully drill them upside down, so less waste gets inside.

Nope. Just rang patrolapart and they only do the whole light replacements for twice that. Back to the old drawing board....
