How to set your Patrol up for different uses

Hey guys - a couple of questions on this thread:

1. Do you see value in me compiling a "bible" of setups for various uses?
2. Who would be happy to check it over?
3. Would some of you guys with knowledge in particular areas (Cuppa, Threedogs come to mind for solar) be happy to write some of it up if I provide the outline?

I personally think this would be a valuable resource - but I could be biased!

Something perhaps overlooked, maybe keepin it within legal road law limits
That alone can be hard as each state ATM is different to the next
Not saying what people do is right or wrong,but no point recomending say 35 " tyres when they arent legal,or massive lifts that arent legal

Hi MQ - happy to add something in there but I'm not a lawyer and would hate some poor soul to take something I've written as gospel and then get done for it. That said, the regs should be public so if they are something that can be referenced happy to do so. Also - big disclaimer to be added!

Hi guys, I've never had a 4wd before. My wife and I have just had our second child and I would like a bigger car that we can all go on some great trips.

I'm planning getting front bar, side rails and steps as dealer, cargo barrier and snorkel from the dealer.

The other things that I have come up with from my research are;
- Rated recovery point
- Air compressor
- Snatch strap and rated shackles
- Diff breather extension
- Duel battery system

I want to chuck this stuff on and get out there.

And a bit later when funds allow;
- Suspension
- RTT & rack
- Rear drawers
- Fridge freezer
- Winch

Because I'm a newb I don't know if these are things that I need or just want, if you know what I mean.

I love close to the Vic high country so I'm thinking that's where I will cut my teeth (I will be going with others for a while while I learn and gain confidence.)

Is there anything I am missing or don't need or need to add as essential.
