Hi AJoz. Is the 4WD park the Hopes Gully property? If so, have they done anything with the amenities?
Our club was there in June 2012 just after they opened and everything was pretty basic. It needed some investment (decent drop toilets for a start) but the property was quite beautiful. I enjoyed the trip. We did not stay on that property but at a free camping spot in Appila springs and yeah, it was the coldest I have ever been at night. All the heat just disappeared up into the sky.

Yep, Hopes Gully. I just visited your Touring blog and I can remember that creek bed and all the rocks. Also driving up and down the banks. Had a ball.
I think it's time our club (Nissan Patrol of SA) went there again with some of the new members.
