@ threedogs - tarps and I have an agreement; I dont touch them, and they wont blow away when a wild gust comes LOL. Like the bastard did when I was at Lake Tanagara (Snowy Mts). We recently invested in one of those Coleman Dome Gazebos and its been bloody brilliant. Even though its not supposed to be "water proof" its saved us from the rain on many occasions. Beauty of it is that you can just pick it up and move it if reqd. Bad thing about it, its bloody heavy and bulky when packed with all those poles! Always a trade off somewhere.

As you say, there are different setups for each occasion. I'm still fairly new to the camping scene, so am looking forward to changing a few things out and becoming more efficient now that I've got the Patrol
