Small bit of maintenance today to get the beast back out on the road after it's been sidelined in the shed for the last week with a failed clutch slave cylinder. It was a pretty straight forward job to replace it, made longer by yours truely forgetting to put the little heat shield on, meaning the cylinder had to come off and go back on again :-(. With the aid of my trusty mate Nic who came up to give me a hand, bleeding it was relatively straight forward. Test drove and all was good.

Great to see your rig up and running again Nic, and big thanks for giving me a hand with the slave cylinder. :-)
    Cheers Rod

Thanks Frampski. I got the switch panel off a member named Woodizz on the Patrol4x4 forum. He has a thread over there where he sells them.

Well a little job for this afternoon. Finally got around to installing the above ERG blocking plate. Pretty straight forward thing to do after you pull the intercooler off. In doing this I found that just about every one of the intake hoses were loose, with the clamps being only slightly tighter than finger tight.

Anyway, put the plate in and then removed the butterfly from the housing in the red circle, don't know what you call it.

Put it all back together and tightened it all up.

Wow, instantly better. It boosts earlier and that pesky flatspot at 2,200rpm (feels like you run into a wall) has gone 8-) . It revs so much freer now and so much nicer to drive. Feels much quicker. Don't know if it's making any more power as such, but definitely much nicer and easier to drive.

I was hoping those loose pipes were causing the sucking type sound I can hear from the intercooler, but alas that sound is still there when the boost comes up. Couldn't see any obvious leaks from the intercooler, so back to the drawing board. Hoping the next set of mods will sort that out once and for all.

Hey Rocket, are you able to put up a quick and dirty on how you pulled this apart? I am keen on a similar install including the USB charger.

    Many thanks.
