Tell me why I should have Facebook

Never had it, never will. I see how it effects people around me and thats about all i need to make sure i never have it.

I have found some specific groups very good and some are very well moderated with no tolerance for foul language or abuse... then there are some where it seems to be a slag fest.

I have joined a reloading group as I have started making my own projectiles and found it so helpful with great advice and mature people who are willing to help and no abuse or haters..

Most of the 4wding groups are full of a mixed bag of some great people and some complete f$#kwits.... many many haters and assholes.

You can tailor what groups you are in to suit your needs.

Had it thought it was ok got annoyed with a lot of bs so got rid of it over 12 months ago while the buy, sell swap stuff i miss the rest i don't life got better when i deactivated!

I was against it... Well I was against what I THOUGHT it was, until a mate showed me that you create your own experience on there. Just like in life, you choose to surround yourself with what you want. It just happens that some people surround themselves with all the bitchy, annoying, gossipy crap in life as well as on facey.

My feed is filled with awesome science stuff, awesome earth stuff, jokes, 4wd pages, hanging crap on Bloodyaussie, sharing cool videos, laughing at funny videos, hanging crap on Bloodyaussie, talking to people off this forum in a place where I can swear lol, and the occasional cake recipe and whiney self absorbed post that I just scroll past without caring.
The only person that I have blocked (so I don't see their stuff) was a habitual recipe poster! Enough, I said!

If you don't like 100's of 4WD, hunting, camping, whatever communities, (public or private) sharing information then maybe it's not for you . Personally I use it to stay in touch with family, sharing photos, etc and use the buy, swap and sell sites where I have sold and bought a shit load and got a heap loads free. You are in control so you can change your privacy settings so you can control who see's what. Exclude people or pages if you don't want to see their crap, etc. Might not be for everyone but jump on sign up and have a look, If you don't like then deactivate account...simple. And for those paranoid ones hiding under their bed thinking big brother is watching, I think you have more issues to worry about and you should stay under that bed and never go out...LOL

There's a lot of crap on there but some good stuff as well and the best part of you don't like it you can delete it and/or block the stuff that's giving you the shits.

I use it to keep in touch with friends on the mainland and to follow sites that are on interest to me. I don't accept random "friend" requests or those from muppets from work places etc that want to add you just to get their count up etc.

I also have a second site that is our farm business which I use to sell some of my product and track markets etc.

OK. I think I'm going to bite the bullet and set it up. Got a couple nights off so should be able to set it up probably without all the crap, except for the ones that told me that I would be on Facebook, maybe I should block those people. Will get around to it no rush.
