We would be able to come up with some sweet gear when you get the CNC machine.

Let us know when you get back so I can knock up the templates for you to make up the sheath vice presses, will be able to knock out some good wet moulded sheathes then
Just wait 'til you see that freakin Tanto! It is a beast...

Not sure when I am gonna be home. Have just been asked if I can stay until the end of March but don't think the project will last that long so will see. At least I should be home for Easter. Unless I get another job that wants me to start asap....Meh, what's 3 months away from home....

I quite like it, I have a knife with the same handle scales and is comfy which was a surprise. Nice shape blade for general work and sheath looks alright as well

OK here is the Deal! just getting into Hunting, was at a Gun show on the weekend and looking at Knives for the first time really. I am looking for 1 knife only. Bet knife for hunting. Interested in your recommendations guys. Rabbits through to Deer.

Links would be appreciated too. I am advised to find a short blade round with the best edge possible. Keen.

Are you looking for a general purpose knife or 1 just for skinning?

Have you already been given some ideas from the show at all or have your eye on any in particular?

It will come down to personal choice and what you feel comfortable holding / using.

If you are leaning towards 1 of the 1's in the left pic, personally I would choice either bottom left (brass bolsters, easy to clean and maintain) or in the same pic the 3rd on the right, the Browning upswept skinner (I have 1 of these also and super sharp and great little knife).

Some gut hooks are a right pain in the butt to use as generally they aren't shaped properly such as angles and size, making it harder to use hence the suggestions made.

Same as TD and Gecko, I have several knives that I can choose from depending on what's needed at the time, smaller knives for small game and then bigger versions for larger game.

I tried to use a small upswept skinner doing a roo a few times, whilst it did it's job, it took a lot longer to dress and ended up changing to a larger knife to finish it off so I usually have 2-3 knives in my shooting bag and sometimes a larger knife on the belt as well.
