Tough Dog adjustable in liue of foam

sorry this has probably been talked about heaps but I need some quick logical opinions based on fact. I have ordered TD 2 inch lift with the 41mm foam shocks. however they are out of stock and want to offer ( at the same price) the adjustable 40mm shocks. I guess in terms of value for money its good but I have heard I will lose travel with the adjustables? not sure if this is on extension or compression. what are the pros and cons of both or should I just jump at the adjustables.

Are the shocks two inch or three inch? Usually, if you are getting a 2inch lift you would go three inch shocks for the extra travel. Usually. I run the TD 45mm Adjustables in 4inch on my 3inch lift. Many don't like'em, many do. I have no complaints about them yet. Well the only gripe I have with the 45mm ones is their sheer size, they are fairly fat and I have found the cover tube just touches the rear spring when flexing, and the fronts, the tube is touching the shocker tower, just. I can't really comment on the 40's though sorry....

its a 2 inch lift. Not sure if I can stretch the offer of 2 inch adjustables by asking for 3 inch. ( I would assume 3 inch would be more expensive than 2 inch) but if I use 3 inch will I have to extend bump stops? and what about coils coming loose on extension?

I've also got the 45mm adj and have done a lot of corrugations and mine need replacing after 60,000k. I do like there ride and I know they had a tough life. If you go on superior engineering site a 2" shock is the same price as a 6" so mention that to them and see if they will upgrade you to a 3"

yep I just checked superior eng and prices for 2 inch or 3 inch are same but what about coils dropping out, is there enough preload to keep the 2 inch coil bound with 3 inch shock drooped fully? also what about bump height?

What do you intend to replace the TD's with?

Dropping coils out I would think you wont see any issues. There won't be enough flex I would say. Bump heights, maybe give Superior or Suspension Stuff a call and talk to them. You can measure it all up and work it out on paper whether it would bottom out on the shock or not too. You could put extended bump stops in if you wanted but again, I would think you would need too. But better off checking..
