That's want I want to do 2" life, do bump stops need to be touched if using 2-4 shocker? Will definitely be looking at brand name shockers.

If you go with a +2" shock. No.
If you go a +3 or more then yes.

He's probably going to need extended links anyway even with a 2inch lift. The sway bar is supposed to be dead level and with a lift they wont. Plus the disconnects will be adjustable/ extended.

I like this idea of the extenderd because my last 4wd drive i snapped the sway bar link was a bit of a dog on the road but the flex was improved. Will see if i can dig up an old photo.

There are 2 options you can go.
You can extend the factory disconnect or replace them with something superiors extended manual disconnects.
Either way you get the best of both worlds

as I always travel light I would like a slight down hill look.

Why is that? How often do you tow your camper?
Wouldn't you rather the car sitting straight when you're not towing (probably 90% of the time) compared to the odd time when you will tow?

To me suspension is a personal choice , what one person thinks is best for a given task , may not suit everybody , I tow most weekends and heavy at that , personally I don't like airbags or spacers , so for me the hardest springs I could get ( kings for me ) , which by the way aren't as harsh as people think , but my family's safety when loaded is paramount ! By the same token most of my 4wding is beach , or dirt roads ,
We all have different needs , which means many different set ups
