Soooo......
I did go out for a cruise with my boss and it was fun... Bugger all proper off road so he still thinks his gutlux is good lol.
Then I got a second hand calliper and got a seal kit put through it. So freshened up rear brake callipers and pads both sides.
And at the same time got fresh front bearings.
But.....
On the way to and from getting the new calliper fitted I didn't hear that scrapping sound and didn't hear it on a quick drive into town another time. Haven't driven it since.
Today I got about 500 metres from home and the noise came back?
Any ideas guys?
It's a high pitch scrapping screamy kind of sound that comes in briefly then disappears. Sounds like it's the drivers side rear (the place that just had the fresh calliper put in) but sounds can be hard to pinpoint in a vehicle. The bearings where checked while playing with the brakes.
Hello from Under Down Under!
not that disc cover plate scraping on the rotor
Did you put never seize on the pad pins and back of the pads
04 ST 3lt auto, not enough Mods to keep me happy, but getting there
Mine made a similar noise and was a rear wheel bearing.
Were there any particular conditions that made the noise Winnie?
Hello from Under Down Under!
It only made the noise when the car was decelerating.
EDIT: Only did it after a few kms of driving though once everything had heated up.
It might have been a seal that had worn and was rubbing on something?
